DTC B2ABA-1C indicates a fault in the internal low-voltage power conversion module of the Electric Air Conditioning Compressor (EAC) controller.
The compressor controller converts the vehicle 12V low-voltage DC power into lower voltages, such as 5V and 3.3V, to power the internal MCU, CAN transceiver, position sensor, and drive circuit.
If the internal DC-DC conversion circuit, voltage regulator chip, or related filter capacitors experience a short circuit, open circuit, or abnormal voltage output (overvoltage or undervoltage), the compressor control unit fails its self-check and reports this fault.
This fault prevents the compressor from starting or causes a sudden shutdown during operation, affecting air conditioning cooling and battery/motor thermal management functions.
This condition typically does not shut down the high-voltage system; the vehicle remains drivable with caution.
- 1Overheating damage to the compressor controller's internal 12V-5V DC-DC conversion chip or power management IC, commonly occurring during prolonged high-load operation or poor heat dissipation conditions.

- 1Use BYD VDS or a dedicated diagnostic tool to read all fault codes and freeze frame data. Confirm if other related fault codes (such as communication or overheating faults) accompany B2ABA-1C.
- 2Check the air conditioning compressor low-voltage power supply fuse (typically 10A-15A) and relay in the front compartment fuse box. Measure their continuity and contact resistance.
- 3Disconnect the compressor low-voltage connector and inspect the pins for corrosion, backing out, or burning. Measure the 12V supply voltage at the wiring harness side (standard value: 10.5V-16V, ignition ON) and the ground resistance (less than 1Ω).
- 4If the external power supply is normal, measure the resistance between the internal power terminal and the ground terminal of the compressor low-voltage connector. A short circuit indicates a damaged compressor internal power module.
- 5Recover the air conditioning system refrigerant (R134a or R1234yf), remove the high-voltage service disconnect and insulate the connections, then remove the faulty compressor assembly.
- 6Replace the electric air conditioning compressor assembly (most BYD models integrate the compressor and controller; do not repair the controller board separately). Verify the new part number and software version match.
- 7Install the new compressor and tighten the high-pressure pipe joint to the specified torque (usually 25-35Nm). Install a new O-ring and apply compressor oil.
- 8Use a vacuum pump to evacuate the air conditioning system for at least 15 minutes. The vacuum must reach below -0.1 MPa. Hold the vacuum for 5 minutes to confirm no leaks.
- 9Charge refrigerant to the amount specified on the vehicle nameplate (typically 450-550g for Qin EV). Use the diagnostic tool to perform the 'compressor replacement matching' or 'online coding' procedure, and write the new compressor serial number and parameters.
- 10Clear the fault code. Start the vehicle and set the air conditioning to maximum cooling mode. Observe the compressor speed, high-pressure line pressure, and air outlet temperature to confirm the fault code does not recur.
