ESC Fault
WarningWhen starting your vehicle, the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) warning light will briefly illuminate during the system self-check, then turn off – this indicates normal operation. If a fault occurs, the light will remain on until the issue is resolved. While driving, a flashing ESC light means the system is actively working to stabilise the vehicle. If the light stays on steadily (while the ABS and parking brake warning lights remain off), the stability control function has been disabled, though your anti-lock braking system and standard brakes will continue to function normally. However, without stability control, your vehicle may become unstable during emergency swerving or sudden evasive manoeuvres.
Arrange for your vehicle to be inspected at a BYD authorised service centre as soon as possible if: • The warning light does not illuminate at startup, or stays on continuously when the vehicle is powered on • The light illuminates while you are driving Important: If the ESC warning light comes on together with both the ABS and brake system warning lights, pull over to a safe location immediately and contact BYD Roadside Assistance or your nearest authorised service centre. In this situation, your anti-lock braking system is not operational, significantly reducing braking effectiveness and vehicle safety.
