Smart Key System Warning
WarningBYD · Safety
What does this warning light mean?
If you press the Start/Stop button without the key inside the vehicle, this warning light illuminates briefly with a single beep, while the dashboard displays "Key not detected - please confirm key is in vehicle". If the correct smart key is present in the car, this light stays off when you press Start/Stop and the vehicle will power up normally. However, if the light flashes when you press the button, the key fob battery is running low.
Can I drive?
With caution
What to do
First, ensure the key is actually inside the vehicle. If the warning light is flashing (indicating low battery), replace the key fob battery as soon as possible. As a temporary measure when the battery is flat, hold the key directly against the Start/Stop button area to start the vehicle.
Likely causes
- —Key fob battery low
- —Key module fault
