Motor Coolant Temperature High
WarningBYD · Thermal Management
What does this warning light mean?
This warning light indicates the coolant temperature in the motor cooling circuit is too high. While similar to the motor overheating warning, this specifically points to a cooling system fault. It may be triggered by low coolant levels, a faulty coolant pump, or a blocked radiator.
Can I drive?
With caution
What to do
Safely pull over and wait for the coolant temperature to drop. Do not open the coolant reservoir cap due to the risk of hot, pressurised fluid. If this warning appears frequently, have the coolant level and cooling system inspected at a BYD authorised service centre.
Likely causes
- —Motor cooling pump fault
- —Coolant level low in motor circuit
- —Cooling fan fault
