System definitions for DTC B1667 vary across BYD models.
Original documentation classifies it under the SRS as "left side impact sensor short to ground." However, in practice for BYD F3, G6, S6, S7, Song, Tang, and Qin series models, B1667 generally indicates a Body Control System fault: "driver side (left) door mirror vertical adjustment motor fault/stuck." Based on circuit operation, the BCM (Body Control Module) identifies the fault by monitoring the drive current and position feedback signal of the door mirror vertical adjustment motor.
The BCM stores this DTC when it detects a short to ground, abnormal current (too high or too low), motor stall, or an open circuit in the motor circuit.
This fault disables the electric vertical adjustment of the door mirror.
It typically does not affect horizontal adjustment, mirror heating, or folding functions (if equipped).

- 2Check the rearview mirror/window system fuse in the engine compartment or dashboard fuse box (commonly F16/15A or F17/20A). If blown, do not install a higher-capacity fuse; locate the short circuit first.
- 3Remove the driver-side door trim panel, disconnect the door mirror wiring harness connector, and use a multimeter to measure the vertical adjustment motor winding resistance. The normal value is 2-5 Ω. A resistance of 0 Ω indicates an internal short circuit; infinite resistance indicates an open circuit or worn carbon brushes.
- 4Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Measure the voltage between the rearview mirror wiring harness connector power terminal and body ground; the reading should equal the 12V battery voltage. Also check the ground wiring harness for continuity and contact resistance.
- 5If circuit measurements are normal, remove and disassemble the door mirror assembly. Inspect the internal plastic gear set and worm drive mechanism for wear, breakage, or foreign objects. Clean and lubricate the moving parts using WD-40 or special grease.
- 6Carefully inspect the wiring harness at the door hinge and inside the rubber boot for outer insulation wear or exposed copper strands shorting to the body metal. Repair any damaged wires found. Wrap the repaired area with multiple layers of heat-shrink tubing and insulating tape, and adjust the harness routing to prevent further chafing.
- 7Replace the faulty component based on the inspection results (replacing the adjustment motor alone costs approximately RMB 180-300, or replacing the mirror assembly costs RMB 800-1200). After installation, clear the fault code, perform an up/down adjustment function test, and verify the fault code does not reappear.
