DTC B2A2B14 indicates an electrical fault in the driver-side A/C blend door actuator.
This stepper or DC motor actuator drives the hot/cold blend door inside the HVAC unit to adjust the driver-side outlet temperature.
A "short to ground" occurs when the motor power supply circuit (B+) or control circuit abnormally connects to the vehicle body ground (GND), typically due to damaged insulation or burnt motor windings.
This condition can blow the fuse or trigger a protective shutdown of the A/C controller.
An "open circuit" indicates interrupted electrical continuity in the motor circuit, likely caused by a burnt coil, broken wiring harness, or loose connector.
This fault disables driver-side temperature adjustment, locking the door in the hottest or coldest position.
Driving with an active short circuit risks wiring overheating or fire, classifying this as a severe fault.

- 5Air flap mechanism jammed: Blend flap shaft seized or linkage detached, causing the actuator motor to stall. Excessive current burns out the motor winding or triggers controller overcurrent protection.
- 1Connect the VDS or BYD dedicated diagnostic tool, read and confirm B2A2B14 is a current fault (Active), record the freeze frame data, and check for accompanying B2A2B12 (short to power) or communication fault codes.
- 2Check the air conditioning system fuse in the instrument panel fuse box (IPM) (usually 10A-15A). If blown, locate and repair the short circuit before installing a replacement fuse of the same rating.
- 3Remove the driver's side lower dashboard trim panel and glove box (depending on vehicle model). Locate the driver's side blend door actuator (on the left side of the evaporator housing, marked 'TEMP' or 'BLEND').
- 4Disconnect the actuator electrical connector. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the motor terminals on the actuator side. Normal values are 30-80 Ω (stepper motor) or 5-20 Ω (DC motor). Resistance <5 Ω indicates an internal short circuit. Infinite resistance indicates an open circuit.
- 5Measure harness-side insulation to ground: Turn off the ignition. Measure the resistance between the actuator connector power pin (usually B+) and body ground. The resistance must be >1MΩ. If the resistance is too low, follow the wiring route and inspect wear-prone locations such as the firewall pass-through and dashboard bracket mounting points.
- 6Check the connector condition: Inspect pins for corrosion, back-out, or looseness. Measure continuity from the wiring harness end to the air conditioning controller end. Repair any open or short circuits.
- 7If diagnostics confirm an internal actuator fault, replace the unit with a genuine air flap actuator. During installation, align the actuator with the air flap shaft splines to prevent gear damage from forced installation.
- 8After completing the repair, turn the ignition switch ON. Use the diagnostic tool to perform 'Air Flap Position Initialisation Learning' (HVAC Learn Function), or follow the workshop manual to perform the manual initialisation procedure (typically by pressing the AUTO + OFF buttons simultaneously or a similar combination). Verify the fault code clears and the temperature adjustment function operates normally.
